KEBRA, a Brazilian (Goiana!) DJ & anti-colonial activist based out of CDMX, leads the Latin American underground by example via their party & movement workshop, Desculonización. For KEBRA, the DJ booth is a space of liberation where rhythm disarms repression, allowing bodies to move beyond colonial constraints. The beats she conjures are not merely to be heard but to be felt, absorbed by the hips and released through movement. Challenging traditional notions of musical hierarchy, KEBRA envisions dancefloors as spaces of transgression, where the act of dancing is both sensual and subversive, treating the bassline as a call to remembrance and the sweat of the crowd as a mark for shared ritual, on a journey of non-stop rhythmic release.
