Joan (she/her) is a producer, DJ, and a raver at heart. Dancing in the scene since 2017, Joan invests a majority of her free time making bleep blop bloops at home or investing her time & sweat to the Bay Area underground scene. As a DJ, she enjoys sharing the euphoric waves that lead to dance floor smiles, as well as moments that provoke deep introspection. The Baptist has a tendency to keep it playful, often humorous, but ultimately shares her music with emotional intentionality and optimism in mind. Religious to no electronic genre, Joan loves collecting music of all kinds, with a focus on Acid House, Progressive House, Breaks, Techno, and experimental genres alike. Joan’s time spent on dance floors has led her to believe that, while the DJ is a powerful curator, the dance floor congregation is equally as sacred as the music that binds them - preaching to the choir, if you will.
